We’re a welcoming space where yarn brings us all together. We support indie makers, small businesses, marginalized and LGBTQ+ folks, and mutual aid throughout the Kansas City area because we believe in the collective power of crafting.

Rare finds and good vibes
At Yarn Social, joy and thoughtful design are everything. We carry natural fibers like sheep’s wool and alpaca, beautiful colors by indie dyers, and high-quality tools like knitting needles, crochet hooks, and notions. Our products are not only beautiful to work with, but made with sustainability in mind. We’re intentional about the quality of our goods and the people who make them.

Meet Trish
If a local knitting group became a yarn shop…
you’d get Yarn Social. In 2018, inspired by her yarny friends from her old knit group and knitting retreats, Trish gathered some of KC's most passionate yarny folks and opened the yarn shop of her dreams: one where crafty people could have tons of fun making friends and making fiber goodness.
Yarn Social's mission -- creating and fostering an inclusive community and mindfully curating a catalog of amazing yarns and tools -- drives every decision Trish and her team make. As a dear friend said, Yarn Social is a purveyor of yarn and joy, and we strive to bring joy to everyone who walks through our door.
