Knit Sock Basics (2/29)
Saturday, February 29, 2020; 1:30-4pm
Have you been wanting to learn to knit a sock? Now's the time: we’ll knit a baby-sized sock in one class, so you'll know all the basics from cuff to toe!
- 50 yards of sock yarn
- US1.5 knitting needles of a type suitable for your preferred method of knitting small circumferences (i.e., double points, one long circular for magic loop, or two circulars; 8-9” circulars will not work for this class).
- Stitch markers
- Tapestry needle
Yarn from your stash may be used for this class. If you wish to purchase yarn for this class at Yarn Social, we offer a 10% discount on yarn and supplies purchased for a class.
Cast on 24 stitches using the long tail cast on.
Join to work in the round, being careful not to twist. Place a marker to indicate the beginning of the round.
Work 1x1 rib (Knit 1, purl 1 across all sts) for ½”.
Do not bind off. Bring your knitting on the needles to class.
